TOPIC: mr trace and sqldev 4

mr trace and sqldev 4 1 year 4 months ago #418

Just installed sql developer 4.
Can't get mr trace installed in it.

If I use the 'search update centers' option it downloads 2.0.0.43 and attempts to install it.
However, after restart of sqldev, no mr trace (no error messages).

If download the 2.0.0.43 version and use the 'install from local file' option, an error occures which makes it clear why: I'm ahead of my time.

Will there (anytime soon) be an updated version of mr trace which will work with sqldev 4???

Thanks in advance.

The SQL Developer team made significant structural changes in version 4 which made all extensions incompatible with the new release.

We are currently working diligently to rewrite the extension and we will release the new MR Trace as soon as possible.

We continue to support MR Trace version 2 installed with SQL Developer version 3, and we thank you for your patience.

Hi Ron,

Are there any updates to this? Or will MR Trace not be supported with SQLDev 4?

Thanks

John,

Yes, as a matter of fact, we're really close. Actually today I'm reviewing and updating the documentation. I believe we'll be able to offer what we call the "version 1 functionality" within a few days. This will give everyone access to the main feature of Method R Trace, creating and fetching a perfectly scoped trace file from SQL or PL/SQL executed from the Oracle SQL Developer worksheet. We don't have a date set yet for adding the "version 2" feature of retrieving previously generated trace files.

We'll let you know when we release.

Erik and John,

Tonight, we released Method R Trace for Oracle SQL Developer version 4. Please see method-r.com/blogs/company-blog/228-new-...-developer-version-4 and method-r.com/software/mtrace for complete details.
